We are excited to announce that the South Carolina Bar Association has awarded the Center with a $60,000 grant for the coming fiscal year that will be used to support the Jobs Not Jail program. The Bar Association has been a partner with the Center for several years, and we are proud to continue impacting the state of South Carolina with this program. In 2004, the South Carolina Supreme Court gave a key endorsement to the Jobs Not Jail program, which accelerated creating a model fatherhood program statewide. This allowed men to be ordered into Center programs instead of mandatory incarceration. Since its inception, the program has saved almost $22 million in taxpayer dollars through reduced incarceration costs and almost $20 million in child support has been paid by participants while in our programs.
