The Center was honored June 1 at the State House as Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed June 2022 to be Fathers Matter Month. The proclamation was in recognition of the 20-year anniversary of the South Carolina Center of Fathers and Families and the organization’s impact on the lives of South Carolinians through our advocacy and program work. The press conference featured key cumulative data from the past two decades, including that more than 25,000 fathers have been helped since 2002 and more than 56,000 children have been impacted positively by our fatherhood programs. Board Chairman, Warren Bolton, welcomed our partners and guests, and fatherhood program participant, Deputy Tomas Santiago, also told his story and how the local organization, Midlands Fatherhood Coalition, changed his relationship with his children. The Center’s President, Pat Littlejohn, also presented the 20-Year Impact Report, a beautiful 28-page tribute to the Center’s dedication to fathers in South Carolina, showing our story from a historic standpoint, as well as each of the local organization’s impact on the overall statewide goals and impact of Center.
