Celebrity Basketball Classic

Lancaster Fatherhood Project's "Celebrity Basketball Classic", featuring The Harlem Magic Masters vs Lancaster Fatherhood Project Trailblazers was a huge success. The event took place in Lancaster High School Gym (capacity 1,500) and there was approximately 1,200 people in attendance. The game garnered coverage from local CN2 TV News Station in Rock Hill, SC as well as the local Lancaster News.

The efforts from the Lancaster Fatherhood Project Board of Directors, staff and volunteers created an ecstatic environment and in turn a successful fundraising event. During the game the Board of Directors and volunteers worked the concession stands, while Kim White and Tim Cureton (staff) sold tickets. Rodney Watts of the Lancaster Fatherhood Project worked the scoreboard for the game. Tyrom Faulkner was the coach for the Lancaster Fatherhood Trailblazers. Unfortunately, the Lancaster Fatherhood Trailblazers lost the game, but there were no losers on this night. The Lancaster Fatherhood Project and the community won by raising funds and putting on an amazing show.

There were celebrities on our team from Comporium Communications, Lancaster News Reporters and various business and community leaders. There were also a few children on the Trailblazers team that kept the everyone laughing. The Harlem Magic Masters dazzled the crowd with their high flying tricks and dunks and the half time show was very entertaining.

"We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Lancaster Fatherhood Project. We are extremely proud of our community and the efforts of our volunteers." - Tyrom Faulkner, Executive Director
