What do employers really want?
Joy R. Goldsmith, placement consultant with Charles Foster and Charleston Labor & Production, conducted a mini workshop on "What Do Employers Really Want?" with participants going through the one-week Employment Readiness Boot Camp. The Boot Camp is designed to prepare participants to successfully seek out and gain employment.
In her presentation, Ms. Goldsmith stressed the importance of making a good first impression on potential employers by dressing properly, having a positive attitude and a complete resume. Some of the things that may reflect negatively on anyone seeking employment are vulgar or inappropriate ringtones on an applicant's cell phone or in his email address, and inappropriate material on a personal Facebook page.
