Father Focus: Chad Weiser

In August 2016, Chad Weiser was court ordered to enroll in the Upstate Fatherhood Coalition fatherhood program. Chad was unemployed, thousands of dollars behind in child support and had an unhealthy relationship with the mother of his 6-year-old daughter. Because of his unemployment, Chad fell behind on bills, lost his home and became homeless.

Once he enrolled in the fatherhood program, he began Employability Boot Camp. He then moved on to complete all other components including: Parenting, Healthy Relationships, Economic Stability and Men’s Health. UFC helped him find a job. With employment secured, he was able to find a place to live and purchase a car and is now able to make his scheduled child support. Through the parenting classes, Chad learned techniques that allowed him to effectively communicate with his child and his child’s mother. Chad says the best part is being able to have visitation with his daughter and he enjoys taking her on outings to the movies and restaurants. Chad graduated from the program May 2017.

Chad Weiser graduated from Upstate Fatherhood Coalition in May 2017 and now has a better relationship with daughter and her mother.
