Fatherhood Programming

The Center supports seven fatherhood programs operating in 12 locations across the state.  Please click the links to the right of the page for individual fatherhood programs.

Fatherhood programs support and teach men to acknowledge their responsibility. Programs provide trusted, missing links between fathers and beneficial professionals and resources.  Our staff urges fathers to participate in the entire, holistic 24-week program that addresses responsible fatherhood, improves economic well-being including navigating child support systems, parenting, and healthy relationships, provides access to healthcare and supports fathers on their spiritual journey.  Fathers participate in weekly peer meetings where they learn new skills, share information and form positive relationships with other fathers.

Men are not just nameless faces at programs. They don’t find a one-size-fits-all approach because their situation merits individual attention.  That’s why staff work one-on-one with each man to set and achieve personal goals.

Programs help fathers:
• Get job training and employment
• Access transportation
• Improve communication skills
• Navigate child support system
• Learn to manage finances
• Improve parenting and co-parenting
• Mediate relationships with their child’s mother
• Gain understanding of men’s health
• Cope with stress
• Spend more time with their children

Fathers may voluntarily participate in the program or may be court-ordered as an alternative to incarceration for non-payment of child support.

Since 2003, the Fatherhood programs have served more than 6,455 fathers.
